Bed And Breakfast Uk

What part of the Loire Valley, France must stay to see the castles and etc?

We went to France in May and the plan is to spend two of our days in the Loire Valley. We were thinking of staying at a bed and breakfast to http://www.gites-de-france.com/gites/uk/bed_breakfasts. The website calls for a department and are the options: Loire-Atlantique, Maine et Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe, Vendée. You can also enter a specific city. So my question is, what would a good place to leave the sites in the Loire Valley? cities and specific sites would be appreciated. We hope to be able to use public transport to move too, but prefers to stay in a rural environment rather than a hotel in a city. I speak a decent amount of French but have never been in the country. Thank you for your help.

Coming from the Loire Valley and want to see some of the best Chateaux I would recommend you stay in the region of the Loire and Cher (41). Say you do not want to stay in a rural, but this will be difficult if you want to rely on public transport. If you were to base of you or close enough to walk to in Blois (a lot of rural houses semi-rural in this area), then you will have plenty of options for Chateaux visits. First, the castle of Blois, in the center of the city, is considered as the castle with the most interesting story. Chambord (must see) and Cheverney (especially if you like dogs) are quite close and there is a dedicated bus castle, leaving train station regularly throughout the day, stopping first in Chambord and then Cheverney and then back to the station. Amboise (where Leonardo lived Vinci) and its castle is a short train ride away as is the capital of this region, Tours.
