Snowshoe Inn Wv

snowshoe west virginia skiing/lodging?

so over christmas break some friends and I are planning on making a trip to snowshoe wv to ski/snowboard for two days. Problem is we are broke and do not want to pay the nominal fees for the hotels at the resort. Does anyone know any holiday inn, econo lodge, best western type hotels that would be close and maybe cheaper? Also another consideration is camping either truck camper or tent camping. Does anyone know of a place we could do this and would not get kicked out (i.e. they are not going to let us sleep in the parking lot at the resort I don’t think though it would be nice). Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
thanks for the help and research so far but for the camping aspect just disregard the cold part we have the stuff to stay warm no worries but thanks again!

i’m afraid that Christmas break may be peak season. Maybe if you can go on Monday Dec 22nd, you could find something. I think it will be way too cold for camping, unless you have a camper with heat. The nearest hotels are an hour drive away. There are mostly condos, lodges, resorts, and bed & breakfasts close to SnowShoe. It seems like the closer you get to Snowshoe, the higher the price. $100 per night. Elkins is a little over an hour away and there are hotels there starting at $56 per night. Sorry, I can’t even find a campground close.

good luck
