Olde Inns
Are there any bars in New York, similar to Ye Olde Triple Inn?
A favorite place of mine, Ye Olde Triple Inn on 54th Street in New York closed its doors few years ago. Over a pitcher of cold and hot roast beef sandwich is consumed there. Of the old beer signs and pictures on the walls to the red and white checkered tablecloths in the dining room, the place had atmosphere. Some may call it a dive, but we loved and made a regular stop. My brother and I have been looking for a bar in Manhattan with a similar appearance. Any suggestions? (No. fashionable martini bars, please). Thank you!
Try McSorley. It's like drinking a museum of antiquities. He is old, cheap and full of memories. Abraham Lincoln used to drink here. I still throw sawdust on the floor. A great place to try.
