The hole in the wall, this name was adopted by the pub through the hole that was created to accommodate additional apartments in the pub, and to give a better view of the new Great Eastern Railway. Standing at the top of the only remaining Roman gate, the Puerta de Balkerne, this pub has a lively atmosphere and is very popular among the young, but definitely worth a visit.
New in Colchester and situated between Osborne Street and Vineyard Gate is the chocolate bar. Currently have little information on this new facility, but it seems to become one of the most popular bars in Colchester has to offer. Watch this space!
Colchester's oldest Inn, The Rose and Crown Hotel in East Street, dates from the 14th century and was restored in previous years. The bar Tudor, with an open fire is a place to sit and relax with a glass of wine.
