Inn By The Lake Reviews

Hotel distance in Seattle question….?

Those of you who live or have been to Seattle…. Is the Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle Downtown Lake Union, Seattle, within walking distance to the places like Space needle, and the tourist sites? I am not renting a car, because I want to walk to some places. Any help is appreciated,I have looked online at many reviews but none really say anything about how far the walks are to the sites. thanks.

It’s within walking distance to the Space Needle. It’s about a mile from the Space Needle to the hotel, I’d say. I can’t think of a bus offhand that just shoots from one to the other, but you’d think they’d have a hotel shuttle that might drop you off if that were too far.

From the Space Needle to downtown is about 15-20 minutes walking or you can jump on the Monorail at Seattle Center (like 50 feet from the base of the Space Needle) and it’s about a 2-minute ride. The Monorail leaves about every 15 minutes.

Once downtown, most areas are def within walking distance. From Westlake Center (mall where Monorail stops at), Pacific Place is across the street. Pike Place Market is 5 blocks down on Pine/Pike. The piers are just a few blocks behind Pike Place Market further. Within the downtown corridor is considered a “Ride-Free Zone” for buses anyways, to encourage less driving and more bus riding downtown and prevent traffic, so you can hop on a bus and ride free around the area, so long as you remain in the Ride-Free Zone. Bus drivers will almost always announce “Last stop in the Ride Free Zone” before the last stop so you can get off there if you aren’t intending to pay.

Are there other places you’re planning on visiting in the area?
