Holiday Inns Europe

What Are The Best Cities in England/Trip Info?

I have a month to stay in England. In that time, I want to know the best 2-3 cities in England.

I was thinking Liverpool and Manchester, and because they are close to each other it is an added bonus.

Opinions on this? Changes?

P.S. How much would a month in England cost me?

Facts about my trip:

It’s only me.

Stay in a decent hotel every night. Like a Holiday Inn or a Ramada, etc. (Or a variation/similar hotel.)

Rent a car. (Little Coupe, like a Toyota Yaris but obviously a European one will be substituted.)

Eating at restaurants almost every night, but not fancy ones, like a local place. In Europe they have a lot of those restaurants where you eat well for $10.00.

Go to attractions daily. I’m a tourist, so I’d be doing those kinds of exhibits.

A rough estimate! Give me the amount in Canadian or American or Pounds.

Thanks!

I spent 4 months in England and it was great!

London has so much to do itself, and its amazing. Things in London I HIGHLY recommend –
-Kew Gardens http://www.kew.org/
-Hampton Court Palace http://www.hrp.org.uk/hamptoncourtpalace/
All Museums are FREE (which rocks)
-Tower Bridge Experience – http://www.towerbridge.org.uk/TBE/EN/Exhibition/
St Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey
There is sooo much to do in London that you can never get bored.

London has the best public transportation and you can even get a train to other cities all over England.

Places I recommend other than London is The Isle of Wight (a small island in Southern England) which is filled with beaches!

I also recommend Oxford (mostly colleges) and Windsor (cute small town and Windsor Castle)

Warwick Castle was my favorite castle because it was very interactive and fun! Climbing the walls of the castle was the best castle climb I did. http://www.warwick-castle.co.uk/

Hostels aren’t bad over there, so if you want to save a few extra bucks, check out hostelworld.com

I have never been to Liverpool or Manchester so i can’t really tell you about that.

Canterbury was another cute town I went to with a great cathedral and a beautiful small town.

If you stay in London and want to do day trips around England, Check out andersontours.co.uk and they have all different trips for a good price! I did a bunch of those and liked it!

Since the exchange rate is really crappy right now, you might want to bring maybe 3000 or 4000 pounds. Bring a credit card just incase.

Have a blast!!!!
