Anyone stayed at Comfort Inn on highland in Los Angeles before?

I’m planning to go in May and wonder how their lobby is? I book a suite that has max of 5 person but we have 7 people. Wonder if we can sneak in 2 person with out them knowing it? Do they check who is coming in and out of the hotel?

Well, I didn’t read the reviews but I was a FD Manager at a Comfort Inn for several years, and I can tell you that even the finest establishment has had bedbug issues in the past. There is no preventative measure that can be taken, aside from an observant housekeeping staff. They hide behind headboards and under mattresses until a person is in the bed. Until then, there is little detection. They can be brought in on luggage, on your shoe, from the sidewalk! No establishment is immune, not even your home. Please don’t judge a hotel by a bedbug incident. Now if they have a problem and don’t solve it right away, that’s another story!

Also, about sneaking people in. There is a max on the room for safety/firecode reasons. For example, if you have 7 people crammed in a room designed for 5 or less and a fire breaks out, you’re going to have issues getting everyone out the door, what with all the clutter and extra sleeping areas blocking entry and exit ways. Also, if you have down that there are 5 people, the firefighters will only look for 5 and assume everyone is out since the other 2 are not registered.

With that being said, it’s no huge crime to do it and chances are low that a fire will break out, but that’s the reasoning behind it. No one will know but it’s not a great thing to do! Some places do have cameras in hallways and public areas and they will add charges if they see numerous people entering/leaving the room.
