Best way to get from John Wayne Airport to Anaheim?
Renting a car is out of the question from what I hear (not 25). I’m planning a trip to CA in October and the main place I want to visit is Disneyland. So I have been looking at staying in a hotel in Anaheim (Eden Roc Inn and Suites) close to Disneyland. I know that SNA wont have a shuttle service service to this airport and I need something cheap (I hear that taxis are expensive) but Im afraid I may have no other choice? Are city buses as big of a pain as I hear they are?
Would staying in Anaheim be my best bet? I want to visit Disneyland, Griffith Park, Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach.. It seems like hotels are cheaper in Anaheim but I’m afraid of the cost of transportation to visit these places if Im staying in Anaheim. Is there a cheaper hotel somewhere close to my other destinations?? I’m pretty confused, sorry if I’m not being too clear.. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!
Traveling to your hotel from John Wayne Airport on public transportation would involve transferring on two different buses, and some walking, which I doubt you want to do if you’re lugging suitcases with you.
The easiest, and fastest way directly to your hotel would be a shuttle service such as Primetime, or Super Shuttle. The distance isn’t that far so the fare wouldn’t be more that $15-20.
Public transportation can be slow for tourists, but the Metro # 460 bus travels from the Disneyland main entrance to Los Angeles where you can transfer to places like Santa Monica, Venice, and Hollywood. Just plan on starting early in the morning. Griffith Park on a bus may be a problem.
To plan your travels on the public system try a website like “socaltransport.org’. It isn’t a bunch of confusing maps, but rather a site where you enter a start and end point and time of day and all available options are listed.
