The second in our series of Hawaii vacations, this article focuses on the island of Maui. Maui is distinguished from the rest of the Hawaiian Islands. It offers the adventure in paradise on every corner. If you only have a week to spend in Hawaii, this is one of the best places to be.
Accommodation is widely available on Maui, including many resorts, bed & breakfast, houses, inns, and villas, many of which offer spectacular views of the coast. Several World-class golf courses are also on Maui.
For such a small island, Maui is filled with "quiet adventures – and pleasant temperatures, ranging from 75 to the lowest and 90 degrees in the highest. Moreover, its waters are warm all year round (ranging from 70 to 80 degrees).
With its outstanding beaches and several stations resorts, Maui has many activities. Helicopter tours, golf, watersports, submarine rides, you can even find on Maui.
The landscape is varied. It is often known as the Valley Island because of the great valley that stretches between two volcanoes. In the wet, eastern side of the mountains there are acres of forest tropical. In the dry side, to leeward of the island, resorts and golf courses abound. And in the central valley, between the volcano Haleakala and the mountain West, sugar cane grows in abundance.
At sea, you can see marine life anywhere else on earth. The coral island is home to hundreds of species that make this a paradise for divers and snorkeling. In winter, humpback whales fill the waters of the south coast. Maui offers some of the best whale in the world, the activities observation. Thousands of humpback whales migrate to warmer waters off the coast of this island of Hawaii, between November and April each year.
Many people spend to the top of Mount Haleakala to view the spectacular sunrise. You can rent a car or take one of many trips to the summit. It will be cold at the summit of the 10,000 feet, both together and bring a thermos of hot coffee or tea.
The road to Hana is considered one of the most impressive in all units of the Islands. This is a slow and winding road through a lush paradise.
The island's beaches are not only plentiful, varied. From the white sands in western Oneloa Maui and Palaueau beach in the south, the red sand beach (Kaihalulu) and Hana black volcanic sands of Pa'iloa in Wai'anapanapa Beach Park, Maui beaches of diversity offer.
On the north shore, Ho'okipa Beach Park is perhaps one of the best places in the world for wind-surfing, body boarding, surfing or kite.
Kapalua Beach, located on the west side Keanae Peninsula in South Maui, one gold – sand beach, with a great view of Molokai. Is protected from big waves by both coral reef and lava formations on both sides.
An excellent family beach, Wailea Beach is on the sunny island south shore.Protected by outcrops families, because it is protected from the wind and the water is shallow. Also located south of Polo Beach, one of the least developed places on the island.
One of the best diving in Maui, Ulua Beach offers excellent on a reef 100 yards offshore. Ulua Beach Wailea is located between north and south Makena beach.
Oneloa Beach – known by locals as "Big Beach", Oneloa Beach in Makena State Park is over 3,000 feet long and 100 feet wide, composed of sugar, white sands meet clear sea. South Maui This beach is the longest beach on the island.
And preserve the marine life. Provides exquisite opportunity to see tropical fish, lobsters, crabs and live coral, including black coral.
Finally, if you want to explore other islands, hiking one day may lead to Molokai or Lanai ferry. Ferries leave daily from the dock in Lahaina, Maui.
