Bed And Breakfast Directory Uk
The best form of advertising is word of mouth. There is nothing new in that statement and few in business would agree.
Unfortunately, what people do mentioned that mouth advertising is also one of the most difficult to obtain. It is one of the few problems that can not be solved simply by throwing money at it.
People buy from people, usually people they like. It follows then that to benefit from the publicity of mouth, you have to know a lot people and have to like you.
A well-trodden path to expanding its network of business contacts is to join a networking group. A number of groups or networks established to respond early in the morning over breakfast. By joining you come to know and become known to a lot of local businesses.
The idea not selling group members, but to educate them about what you do and the type of references that you like so that reference can generate business for you from their contacts existing ones.
It is a very powerful model. Suddenly, you no longer have to rely on the Yellow Pages or other business directories to find suppliers and other members begin to happen that business references. At least in theory.
Having been a member of this group over a year I recommend you join a networking club breakfast if your business is one with a geographical focus. By this I mean that if your prospects are a few kilometers of where they held meetings, breakfasts It is likely that work very well for you.
To give you an idea of how well they can work, my local breakfast club generated about one million dollars of business for its members in just 6 months. Most of it was for companies in the construction sector.
Unfortunately, my business is selling professional services and the target medium and large companies both in the UK and abroad. Therefore postcode (zip code) focused on the nature of breakfast meetings actually not work for me, so I decided to start my own 'Virtual Networking Group' called Ozone Business Network
Virtual Networking high-tech sounds too high, but all that means is that members of the group are on the phone and internet instead of face to face. The meetings are held to along similar lines to the traditional breakfast groups, but members can literally too join meetings without having to leave the bed. Since there is no need travel, geography is irrelevant. You do not even need to be in the same country to participate.
Most of our members are based in the UK, but a woman who runs a language translation company in Holland joins every week. Even when we've had people join the assignment in Yemen.
While the meetings virtual are very effective, there is no substitute for face to face meetings to really get to know each other well so once a month, we have a traditional meeting at night for people to press the flesh "and develop business relationships through a drink or snack.
So really work? Well, it soon yet. We've only been running for a few months, but as word gets around of requests we are receiving more and more experience of a meeting virtual firsthand. In fact, after being covered in the British newspaper The Sunday Times, which has been flooded with requests for more information.
People like how to retain some of the best ideas from traditional breakfast meetings, but eliminate the need to travel saving time, money and help protect the environment. Unfortunately, no one has created a way to revitalize the breakfast you have to supply your own coffee.
We are always happy to listen to people who want join us, but, to put it delicately, we must ensure that restrict membership to the type of person who benefit most from our forum. Unlike many breakfast groups do not want to be all things to all people.
We're just really concerned that members who are relatively senior in their organizations and business who are interested in growing their businesses. Normally we ask that member companies have established at least one year.
We chose this point interruption to avoid what I call "home syndrome". Without wishing to be cruel to people who just started (we all have to start somewhere site) I've been to many networking events, where people are presented as fully formed companies, but when you dig a little below the surface are one band is man without establishing the customer base and therefore there is no book of contacts to share with other members.
I am convinced that as a business is more and international travel becomes more expensive and time consuming, this is the way forward. Only time will tell.
