Inns Upstate Ny

People of Montreal!!!! Can i have your help?!?

My girlfriend and I are going to Montreal for three nights in the beginning of July. I’ve looked at a lot of information and am trying to decide whether we should stay at the Holiday Inn Montreal-Midtown on Sherbrooke or the Holiday Inn Select Centre Ville Downtown on the corner of Vigars Ave and St. Urbain St? We are each 20 years old and going for primarily parties/clubs/nightlife.

Also, I’m trying to decide if I should drive (from upstate ny) or just take a bus or train. It would be significantly longer and more expensive to not take a car, but I heard driving is bad and if I keep the car at either hotel it’ll be about $20/day. Would I get any use of having a car while I’m there or would it be way easier for me to take the metro? What would you recommend I do, drive or not? Thanks so much for any help

From what you have said:

“Going for primarily parties/clubs”

Stay at the one on Sherbrook. But, I should tell you that Montreal downtown is pretty compact, things are happening all over, and also that St. Urbain St. location is not far from
Sherbrook either, but this one is a lot more Central.

If you are not going to spend most of your time in Montreal, forget about a car, take the train, the station on St. Catherine, is only 15 minutes walk to the Hotel, and there is Metro right there that will take you right a few step from the hotel in no time.

Metro is fantastic over there, and there is no need for a car.

If you are going there before July 06, which is the time of the Jazz festival, I would make sure that I already have a place for the night. And I really mean this.

Enjoy it.
